Home From Puerto Plata - Dominican Republic

So much to tell you all about our Winter Escape thru CAA Travel to Puerto Plata and the Dominican Republic। Many pictures and many Dominican people live - the way they travel - and they way they spend their days। We'll have many pictures soon - so be sure to check back as we all continue to blog। Thru CAA travel our group of 48 stayed in the luxurious Iberostar Costa Dorada where the staff is friendly and most accomodating. Our excursions included everything from Scuba diving, deep sea fishing, and the must have field tour of the Outback Safari. We were able to visit Domincan schools, farmers, and fisherman.

The Dominicans prime industry is tourism and most of the populations work at different hotels and farms that supply goods to the resorts. Although the Domican has a 40 per cent unemployment rate they are all very friendly and extremely hard workers. Dominican schools are relatively small but are will made concrete stuctures. Each class in the schools has about 12 to 15 students. We were able to visit a Grade 5 and 6 class on one of the Outback tours.
